Coach Introduction

My name is Jeff Hyndman and I will be your coach for the 2023-2024 Rideau St. Lawrence Kings U15 AA team.  As a graduate of the inaugural Kings organization, I and super excited to come back to share all of my
knowledge as a player/coach which I have gained throughout the years.
I have gained this experience from playing AA hockey along with Jr A/B. I have coached Jr B/C but started coaching with the North Dundas Demons. Where, as most coaches do, I coached both my daughters at the
Rep level, I then moved and coached them at the AA level in Ottawa.
Hockey is a game of skills and development. Players develop and learn the game by being given the opportunity to play in all game situations and allowing them to compete while playing. Hockey is also a game of mistakes and my role as a coach is to try to reduce the mistakes as the season progresses. I do bring a firm approach to the rink and have an expectation that players are disciplined, supportive and willing to work hard at every team event. When all the players buy into this concept, we become a “team”.  Although family and school will always come first, it is expected that we will be on the ice 3-4 times weekly and will be entering 4 tournaments throughout the year. The yearly schedule will be properly laid out and give parents ample time to plan accordingly. It is important that all activities are fully supported and, with the exception of an emergency, players are expected to attend all events. This will help establish a “true team bonding experience” throughout the full season.
