Coach Introduction

Dear Parents and Players,

Welcome to the 2023-2024 hockey season! My name is Dustin Kingston and I will be your head coach for the U9 Rideau St. Lawrence Kings team this upcoming season. I am extremely excited to help bring U9 hockey back to Rideau St. Lawrence and am looking forward to getting into the rink and on the ice to get the season started.
This year’s team will be guided by a commitment to enjoying the game and player development. Practices will revolve around individual skills, competition, and having fun. Game philosophies will include puck management, possession, and support, and executing with pace. With these ideas in mind the ultimate goal will be to develop players with all of the skills and tools required to move to the full ice game at U10.
My expectation for players will be simple: Work hard, be willing to listen, and be a great teammate. Players will be asked to compete in every aspect of our training, show enthusiasm in learning new skills, and demonstrate team first behavior both on and off the ice. The hope is to create a passionate group that can bond and improve in a safe and positive hockey environment.
